Expanding the mind

27 11 2006

First and foremost, I suck.  September 26 was my last entry. I’ll do better.

Well since my last blog I’ve switched jobs. Im back in retail managing. After much deliberating I decided it would be good for me experience wise. I’ve complained a lot about how things have been done in recent job experiences. Here’s a chance for me to better myself, a chance for me to mature. However, I do plan on finding another job a bit more in my field…in the near future.  Anyway. Blame it on the weather change or my lack for sleep but I’ve recently fallen into a state of hibernation. It’s a difficult time of the year. With finals creeping up…geez in the next two weeks, i’ve devoted much of my time doing school work. Staying at home and doing absolutely nothing has become rather attractive. Im drawn to be at home.  Amongst this sudden change in behavior, I’ve decided to take up reading. lol I figured it’d be a good thing for me mentally, consider it a mental workout. Because you know im not doing anything to change my physical being.  After doing my usual myspace and Blog surfing, I came across a few titles that interested me.

Moral MindsMoral Minds, I haven’t actaully started reading, but i’ve found myself really drawn to human moral behavior. Im really excited to read this one!

”MORALS EXCITE PASSIONS, and produce or prevent actions. Reason of itself is utterlay impotent in this particular. The rules of morality, therefore, are not conclucsions of our reason.”

                                -David Hume

The End Of Faith

The End Of Faith. I like to surround myself with a variety of people. Finding myself drawn to people heavy on religious belief. Not so much because of their faith or beliefs, but for their moral standard. They inspire me to be a better person. This book I have begun reading. It makes me think(obviously!) But I find especially compelling because of the people I know. We’ve all got our differences, but are able to get along! It’s too bad the world can’t be the same way. The End of Faith describes how all our differences whether it be race, faith, reason will be our down fall, the destruction of our society.

Finally. Friends…get me out of this funk. Although, I am really enjoying this sudden desire to learn and grow. I’d rather be hanging out with you guys!!! Here’s to Eric’s birthday!!!
