“I’m Yours” Jason Mraz

21 04 2008

Well you done done me and you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill but you’re so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks
and now I’m trying to get back
Before the cool done run out
I’ll be giving it my bestest
Nothing’s going to stop me but divine intervention
I reckon its again my turn to win some or learn some

I won’t hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I’m yours

Well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you’re free
Look into your heart and you’ll find love love love
Listen to the music of the moment maybe sing with me
Ah, la peaceful melodys
It’s your God-forsaken right to be loved love loved love love

So I won’t hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I’m sure
There’s no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I’m yours

I’ve been spending way too long checking my tongue in the mirror
And bending over backwards just to try to see it clearer
But my breath fogged up the glass
And so I drew a new face and laughed
I guess what I’m saying is there ain’t no better reason
To rid yourself of vanity and just go with the seasons
It’s what we aim to do
Our name is our virtue

I won’t hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I’m sure
There’s no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I’m yours

Well no no, well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you’re free
Look into your heart and you’ll find love love love love
Listen to the music of the moment come and dance with me
ah, la one big family ([2nd time:] ah, la happy family)
It’s your God-forsaken right to be loved love love love

I won’t hesitate no more
Oh no more no more no more
It’s your God-forsaken right to be loved, I’m sure
Theres no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I’m yours

No I won’t hesitate no more, no more
This cannot wait I’m sure
There’s no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I’m yours, I’m yours

Hour or Two of Happy

18 03 2008

7&7′S, Filthy Dirty Martini’s, and Gin&Tonic’s make for a funny outing.  Anthony and I have taken to Brio Tuscan Grill very well. The Drinks are marked at regular price but you can’t beat the taste of their $2.95 appetizers during their Happy Hour. Brio is located in the heart of Townsquare, parallel to the kids playground.  The food tops my list of favorites, but it’s the atmosphere and staff that have won me over.  With one of the best outside seating arrangements in town it’s hard not to appreciate the spring weather that we’ve had as of recent. The staff is friendly, generous, and flirty(Anna from Columbia, if you ever come upon this blog, Anthony and I say “hi, how are you”) I think most in part because they’ve just opened and are looking to still make a name for themselves here in town. But regardless how well Brio does, we’ll be life time customers. Oh and receiving a 15% lifetime VIP discount didn’t hurt either.(Thanks Tony!)

Boulder City and Hoover Dam, DAMN!

12 03 2008

After this past week I feel as if I should apologize to the city of Boulder. I not only judged you, I also made fun of you behind your back.  Boring, ugly and uneventful are all words on the nicer side that I used to describe you. You really suprised me. You showed me your cultured, small town feel roots that I think all of us here in Las Vegas crave every now and then. Friendly folks throwing a hand up to say hello or thanks, rather than to say ” up urs”, and trees u can actually sit or lay under, I felt as if I were in another state.

Ant and I got up early to have breakfast at the Ritz Carlton, our new favorite breakfast spot. The day was completely open to us so we sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air for a few long minutes. We drove down to the Hoover Dam after. One of the Seven Forgotten Modern Marvels of the World, the dam was built for power, irrigation, transportation and some other crap. But in my opinion it was just a huge grave site or tomb stone. Few dozen “remember the dead who built this thing” and “tons of people died here”  signs kind of creeped me out, but it did make me remember them. On the way back home we stopped at Boulder Beach to catch more air. Here are a few pictures. Not to eventful that Boulder Beach but nice to know it’s there…I guess.

Birthday, New York and iPod Nano!

13 11 2007

It’s no secret that my favorite time of year is October! Forget Christmas and Thanksgiving, the month of October by far wins the coolest month of the year award. Why you ask? For starters the weather changes, for the cooler! I’ve expressed my hatred for the heat well enough in this blog, so we won’t go into that. It’s the time of year in Vegas where you can drive with your windows down at 2 in the afternoon and not sweat your lunch off. Oh yeah and my birthday tends to run around this time of year….

I have a great group of friends that know how to party and treat yours truly to a good time!  My birthday was on the twenty first which fell conveniently enough on a Sunday, but due to work complications I decided to celebrate early and go out Friday night. Kahunaville at the Ti was the designated party station for the evening. And from what I can vaguely remember from the night, I had a pretty good time! Alcohol is best taken in moderation and birthdays are the worst exception to that rule. Spending a night(which I might add, ended at a sad 12:30am-ish) highly intoxicated, sequentially means spending a morning in a whirlwind of splitting headaches and toilet hugging.

I’ve been back from New York for a good two weeks now, and it’s still all I can think about. Everything about my visit was memorable. From my more than welcoming hosts to walking the streets of Manhattan. Anthony and I spent most of the weekend away from the big apple visiting family and friends. Long Island is a beautiful little place. Growing up in Southern California and Las Vegas, I never got to experience so much green. Homes in Long Island are like the little make-believe houses you think of in your head that everyone wants to live in. White picket fence with a big yard, or maybe a small stream in your backyard shaded with a blanket of leafs that are changing color. The buildings were reeking of age and background story, it was a nice change of environment.

The city was everything I thought it would be. Perhaps not as busy as I initially anticipated, but full of activity nonetheless. Pretzel, hot dog and godknowswhat stands on nearly every corner, angry taxi cab drivers honking their horns and 2 or 3 sirens going off somewhere around the next department store. We got to the city late in the morning, skies were still indecisive with a few drizzles every so often. We stepped off the subway a block or two away from one of my “must see” sites. The 3 story H&M store that had come so highly recommended! And boy it didn’t disappoint.  Downtown, Time-square, Central Park and Canal Street made their way into our agenda that day. With shopping bags in hand and a jam-packed memory card of pictures we made our trek back to Long Island for some home made meat balls! The Big Apple is considerably larger than Las Vegas and in all probability would take more than just a Saturday to witness just half of what there is to see. I can’t wait till my next visit!

iPod Nano

I got this fellow a few days after New York from my best friend Eric. Got the Silver 4g. Thanks Eric, my Blackberry’s got a attractive little buddy to chill wit now!

Special Thanks to Anthony for New York and to Kerry and Noelle for being there to help me to the car, a little tuna ain’t never hurt anyone! haha

Options

9 10 2007

Anyone that knows me even just a little bit knows that my first option would be to wear a hat everywhere. For more than a few different reasons, Im much more comfortable with a cap on my noggin. I was scrolling through some old pictures, totally disregarding my mid-term, and I noticed how often I change my style. For someone with thick short hair I find it a tad suprising! But I guess it’s good to know I have options.

…and yes, I know how narcissistic this is. =0

It’s time for Celebration…

7 10 2007

Or should I say “BLOGeration”. I am  going to ignore the obvious neglection that has fallen upon this blog, and skip to my recent going ons.

First, let’s please take a second say hello to my new friend, Blackberry Curve.

With the help of this little fellow and it’s 2.2 mega pixal camera I can easily upload pictures to my laptop.  I’ve been waiting patiently for someone to buy me the iphone, but I just couldn’t take it any longer. But don’t get me wrong, far from settling, the Curve can do just about all the fancy things the iphone could do, just minus all the fancy. PLUS an interchangable battery!

Im finding myself just weeks away from my birthday AND New York city. My first trip to the opposite side of the country I like to call “the east coast”.  Las Vegas/West coast friends that have never been, this would be a great opportunity for you all to be VERY jealous. October is the calm before the holiday storm that befalls all in the retail world. I really want to take full advantage of my upcoming vacation time. I’ll post pictures.
